This year, members of BUTA – Balgrayhill Ukrainian Tenants Alliance are taking part in the Glasgow Kiltwalk to raise funds for our community project.
The Kiltwalk is a charity walking event across Scotland supporting local causes.
Although the walk is fully booked, we are taking part with a clear purpose — to support the development of our community allotments in Sighthill.
We are developing a community allotment space where local residents can:
grow their own food
spend time outdoors
improve wellbeing
meet others and feel part of the community
For many people in our community — especially families, seniors and new arrivals — this will be a place to connect, relax and feel at home.
Funds raised will support:
basic tools and gardening equipment
plants, seeds and soil
small infrastructure for the space
creating a welcoming environment for community use
Even small contributions help us take real steps towards building this space.

Every donation helps us build a shared allotment space for the community.
£3 – Seeds
Helps us buy seeds for growing food.
£6 – Seed trays & pots
Helps us grow seedlings and start planting.
£10 – Starter seed packs
Helps us plant a variety of vegetables for the allotment.
£15 – Compost
Helps us provide soil and nutrients for healthy plants.
£35 – Small greenhouse
Helps us create growing space and protect plants throughout the season.
These examples show how donations will support the project. Funds will be used where they are most needed.
We are taking part in the Kiltwalk to support something that will grow with the community — not just for one day, but for the long term.
This project is about:
connection
wellbeing
community ownership
creating something together
